Controlling the Progression of Curvature in Children and Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis - supplements now avilable in clinic

Several theories have been proposed to explain the etiology of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) until present.
Some idiopathic scoliosis cases occur and progr
ess due to insufficient vitamin D, calcium, and melatonin levels through their regulation of bone mineral density. Low vitamin D levels can predict a significant increase in Cobb angle.
Patients with idiopathic scoliosis may benefit from a novel treatment by supplementation with vitamin D, where there is a serum level deficiency of 25-OH-vitamin D (below 30 ng/mL).In one study, those that supplemented with Vitamin D had a progresion rate of only 16.2% while those that did not supplement had a progression of 48.6% after 2 years.
Please consider your child taking Vitamin D and Calcium, supplement and possibly Melatonin supplement if required.
